WHAT WEAKENS THE BONES

We all know that our bones need calcium, vitamin D and exercise…but there are silent leechers of calcium from our bones that we also need to be aware of !

1. Too much salt: aim for less than 1tsp salt per day – avoid packaged food

2. Acidity: leeches calcium from bones

3. Alcohol: can interfere with how how your body absorbs calcium

4. Excess caffeine: prevents absorption of calcium -reduce intake of soft drinks

5. Smoking : slows the formation of new bone tissues

6. Underweight: can lower bone mass
